Psychology

A registered psychologist is available for treatment and counselling in the following areas:

  • Depression, anxiety and stress management — managing their triggers as well as coping with negative thoughts and beliefs associated and preventing relapse
  • Dealing with post natal depression
  • Relationship and interpersonal counselling including starting a new relationship and pre-marriage counselling, coping with the end of a relationship and identifying what you want from relationships
  • Conflict management and communication
  • Dealing with domestic violence
  • Weight control and lifestyle management including understanding and managing over-eating behaviours and problem dieting and taking control of triggers to over-eating
  • Alcohol and other drugs harm minimisation and relapse prevention counselling
  • Exploring the physical, psychological and social impacts of substances on well-being and understanding and managing withdrawal symptoms as well as taking control of triggers to substance use
  • Goal setting, problem solving and developing a relapse prevention plan

Counselling

An experienced social worker with a Masters in Counselling provides respectful, collaborative counselling for all issues related to the choices, changes and challenges of life, including relationships, parenting, child and family issues, adjustment, lifestyle choices and grief and loss.
